So I know how you feel and I’ve been where you are. I too have worked 60 hours
a week, working every weekend, multiple open houses every weekend, trying to
land cold leads given to me by another agent or team lead at a 50/50 split,
farming a neighborhood, feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and burnt out. Don’t
forget the stress of making sure I have enough business and a steady flow of
clients. Trying to Balance it all! Not having control of my schedule and wanting to
make sure I give my clients 100% attention so that they don’t go to another
realtor. I was failing every day and the mom guilt was horrible! I was trying to be
present for my kids and husband and present for my clients all at the same time.
The struggle is real and it is so difficult to manage. I never thought I was being
good enough and I always felt like I was letting everyone down.

Well, after running my business this way for a couple of years with 2 babies at
home something had to change cause it was not working. I got into real estate for
the flexible hours and the freedom but I was feeling more chained to my “job”
then working an 8-5pm. I know that this is what most real estate agents are doing
and when you go to a training class this is what we are taught… hustle, do 3-4
open houses a week, cold call, door knock, farm a neighborhood but if this is what
you have to do to be successful in real estate then I started thinking that maybe
real estate wasn’t meant for me.

But then I read a book called “The Millionaire Real Estate Agent” by Gary Keller
and went to a class taught by another successful local real estate agent named
Marguerite Cresspillo and learned another way of building your real estate
business. At first I was skeptical cause I didn’t think it would actually work. You
are so engrained to run your real estate business one way for so long that I was
unsure if this would actually work. But this NEW way completely aligned with who
I am and how I wanted to build my real estate business that I thought I had
nothing to lose. I was already stressed out, burnt out, my family was suffering and
I was already thinking about quitting so trying this route seemed to be the best
choice for me.

And boy am I so glad that I did. This new way of running my real estate business
has changed my life forever. I now only work 20-30 hours a week. My clients work
around my schedule. I set the stage right up front in my initial buyers and listing
presentation. I tell them I work Mon-Friday 8-5, apts evenings and Sat and I don’t
work on Sunday so that I can be with my family. And I have never lost a single

client over this schedule. I have a constant flow of clients and referrals every
month and throughout the year. Over the past 10 years running my business this
way I have consistently made 6-figures every year. I do not do any cold calling,
door knocking, farming, paid online leads and I only do an open house 1 time on
every new listing. Period. My clients respect me and my time. They treat me like
the professional that I am. And they refer me to ALL their friends, family and co-
workers. Last year I made close to $200k working part time, out of my house, with
no employees, no office and only one TC and I closed 19 transactions. I don’t
share this to impress but I share it with you to show you that this process works.
Now I get to be very involved with my kids. I have been the PTC treasurer for my
kids school for the past 3 years and on the PTC board. I have been room mom, I
volunteer in my kids classroom and at church, I go on ALL my kids class field trips.
I am the one picking them up and dropping them off for school, I have not had to
have a nanny or babysitter, I go to all of their sports games. I have finally found
the perfect balance of successful Real Estate agent and Mom. The challenge that
never seemed possible at the beginning is now my day to day. My Mom guilt has
reduced dramatically (I really don’t think Mom guilt ever goes away, let’s be
honest) and I always have a consistent flow of referrals and clients that naturally
come to me throughout the year because of my new way of running my business.
Over the past year I have had this mission placed on my heart and I am so excited
to share it with everyone. I want to share this way of running a successful real
estate business to as many Real Estate Boss Mamas as possible. I have been
where a lot of real estate mamas are and I know there is another way that is a
better way and is proven to work!!
